Back from the Rock for Wayne gig at the Glass house. Went with shums and shuying to support bryan (West Grand Boulevard). im dead beat. My ears are still ringing, and my feet sore from standing for 3 hours and being trampled on countless times. But it was awesome! This was bigger scale than expected. i pictured a live gig outdoors with 1 or 2 bands, but this was indoors with top-of-the-line sound system and lighting, and AIR CONDITIONING!:) Rock for Wayne saw a slew of local bands coming together, a tribute to the late Wayne Seah from the Suns who passed away in his sleep. Really a reminder to seize each day..carpe diem!
Performances from Force Vomit, West Grand Boulevard, Electrico, Caracal, and the Astroninja All Stars. Levin from Ronin was amongst the ALL Stars, performing here even after a gig with Ronin this afternoon at cine. Even though they're all essentially rock bands, each group has their own distinct sound. Gotta hand it to Force Vomit for putting together a decent performance even without their lead guitarist present. Electrico is really good. i love
Semicircle Punch by West Grand Boulevard! The guitar rifts and lead intro to that song simply gives you thrills.
The crowd was crazy, almost like a mosh pit. People around were screaming, dancing, jumping, carrying up people and body shoving one another. i even got pulled into a group of random strangers who were dancing around in a circle hahaa. There are some really talented musicians in the local music scene. Takes a helluva lot of practise to reach that level! im inspired. Some pics from tonight.
